Description

Caldara decks are always strong with questing and location control but usually have some difficulty dealing with combat. Direct damage decks are the complete opposite, excelling in combat (or in this case kill most everything before combat) but lack in questing and location control. So why not combine the best of both worlds?

These decks work extremely well together, covering each other's weaknesses while doing what they do best. There is only one decision that has to be made before you begin, and that is which deck needs Sword-thain more. Majority of the time the Caldara deck should be the one using Sword-thain on its ally for Caldara's ability and boosting Pelargir Shipwright's willpower.

So with Sword-thain going on a blue ally, Wingfoot becomes useless in the direct damage deck (was only in there for a janky combo that isn't necessarily needed). You can drop both from the deck and either

  • keep your deck at 50 cards, down from 52
  • add in 2 Faramir to boost other deck during questing
  • add in 2 Ranger Provisions to increase resources for one of the decks

I always bring these two decks with me whenever I go out to play at my local store or with friends because both decks are strong at what they do and can fill in with a bunch of other decks, but together they cruise through quests with ease.

Of you want a more in depth look at how each deck works feel free to follow the links to a description of them in full.
