This is a progression deck that only uses cards through the current Deluxe Expansion.
Spirit allies and Éowyn are focused on questing. Dwalin brings semi consistent threat reduction given the number of orcs in the encounter deck. Getting at least one would weapon attachment on him is important.
Tactics provide allies who can take down some goblins. Legolas also excels here and contributes progress tokens. Even better if he can get Blade of Gondolin.
For the Seventh Level: Sub Legolas out and Thalin in since it is an enemy heavy encounter deck and most have 2 hit points (some with 1). Put the Book of Mazarbul on Thalin so he can quest in stage 1 without exhausting and remain ready for defense (Book prevents him from attacking).
Note: Two scenarios in and Astonishing Speed looks to be a dead card and only useful to boost Éowyn. Consider subbing this out for something that proves more useful in combat or helps control the encounter deck/staging area.
