Denison 633
Daily Challenge: Play The Drowned Ruins using a deck that starts at 38 threat or more.
Denison's Difficulty Level: 4
Deck Summary
Options are limited when the need is 38 threat. Gandalf is almost a given with the only 14 threat in the game. The quest necessitates a lot of questing, so CĂrdan the Shipwright was up next. Elrond became the third for healing help and general versatility for stats and resources.
This quest almost guarantees to travel to a location every round, so Curious Brandybuck gets a cool moment to shine here. Several of the location attachments were also included to benefit from the location-palooza of Drowned Ruins.
Starting at 38 threat also necessitates some threat control, so we have Elrond's Counsel and Woodmen's Clearing. Favor of the Valar could also have been included here, but it's a bit costly so it was omitted.
Quest Summary
The quest itself is on the easy side, but the final stage includes a 5 threat increase each round. I managed to draw into a few of the threat mitigating cards and escaped the shrine in two rounds. Usually the Woodmen's Path would not be helpful to lower the threat of the massive quest-pointed underwater locations, but there is a treachery that sends one to staging. The stars aligned and I was able to drop an underwater location by 13 quest points one round.
Conclusion
Usually this quest is fun lap around the pool, but the high starting threat is a decent challenge. One more round and this trio would have been sunk.
