doomguard 1963

so, for everyone who is interested in my (imo more playable) version:

  • the gandalftoys are maxed, even the pipe. we need it for quasi-carddraw and not less important for flame of arnor.
  • instead of the White Tower Watchman as defender who has more survivebility the Guardian of Rivendell. in addition to his defense ability, specially with narya a decent attacker
  • saruman only 1 if played solo could increase to 3 (sideboard)
  • Keen as Lances maxed. either for cards or threadreduction, but not less important, good targets for Flame of Anor

choose strider as defaultattachement, then mulligan hard for resourcefull, with 1 you can play a 4-cost ally each round, better are 2 then there are more options.

with selected The Master Ring i think this deck is able to play anduin nightmare. (use the event if the location with 10/10 comes to early)

This looks pretty similar to a version that I was experimenting with. Did you consider Keys of Orthanc for use with the Steward of Orthanc? Radagast's Staff might be a decent one-off as well to get two uses out of Wilyador each turn -- could also just be sideboard for when you play an encounter with lots of Creature enemies.

i considered the keys, but if unlucky i get the key and see no steward the whole game, thats to risky to me. i do not like dead cards on my hand, thats the reason why i take the unique only once. have enough doublecards within gandalfs toys (but they are important and i would like to have a dead of them on hand, that means i have another one in play)

radagast staff only for wilyador seems not worth it. if playing with a teammate who has creatures, i would take it.

I tried this deck today and had fun with it. Teamed up with my wife and her Noldor deck to take on A Storm at Cobas Haven. Won the quest eventually. Looking forward to trying this deck more.
