Why I Made this Deck :

After i found out about this fan-made expansions to this game, I really wanted to make a deck around one of them. I chose to do a deck with cards from the "ALeP - FIre on the Eastemnet" expansion. I chose this expansion cause it expand the Eagles Archetype (it's not as big of an archetype as Gondor for example), there are 2 new Eagle heroes (ex Faunith), some new eagle allies (ex: Messenger of Manwë), new Eagle attachments (ex: Golden Crown) and some new Eagle evnets (ex: Hidden Roosts).

This deck is an "upgrade" to this one : https://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/19013/eagledeck-1.0

Here is a quick description that can help you understand this deck.

Main roles of each Hero :

Faunith : He is your main quester. You use him to ready Gwaihir in the questing phase and to use your Eagles for dealing one damage to an enemy in the staging area.

Gwaihir : He is your main attacker. If you have enough resources you can ready him two times. How you do this : You play an Eagle in the "buy" phase and you send Gwaihir to the quest (he will add +2 ), then, after you send Faunith to the quest, you trigger his action to play another Eagle (if you want, you "may exhaust that ally to commit it to the quest or deal 1 damage to an enemy in the staging area"). This action will ready Gwaihir a second time, then you can use him as an attacker in the combat phase.

Radagast : He is your main defender. Each round, you want to play a Creature card (Eagles are Creatures), when you do that, Radagast "does not exhaust to quest this round" and thanks to Radagast's Staff you are able to play those Creatures for a cheap price, so he rapidly becomes your main quester too.

Cards that you want in your opening hand :

Radagast's Staff is the most important card,it will be nice if you have Eagles of the Misty Mountains or Horn of Gondor from the beginning.

Some simple advice :

Thanks to Eagles of the Misty Mountains, you can let those Eagles discard themself.

After you play a Creature card, thanks to Radagast you can send him and Faunith for the quest without exhausting Radagast. You can send Gwaihir too if the card that you played has the Eagle trait. If you have another Eagle in your hand you can trigger the Faunith response that will ready Gwaihir.

Use the Radagast's Staff each round, most of the time to "reduce the cost of the next Creature ally you play this phase by 2", but sometimes to "ready an Creature ally". Rarely, when you play against enemies with the Creature trait (like Wargs), this ability can be useful to.

Play Horn of Gondor on Radagast because resources from his pool are used to pay for Creature cards of any sphere.

Play Golden Crown on Gwaihir or Faunith it can be played only on Eagles.

When any of your Eagle Allies will be discarded, Eagles of the Misty Mountains are getting stronger and you get a resource from Horn of Gondor.

To sum up :

If you have a good round, you play an Eagle, you send everyone to the questfor 6 , you play a second Eagle, you defend with Radagast and attack with Gwaihir (only using heroes).

It's all ! I Hope you enjoyed this deck, and you will give it a try !

Cool deck, I am normally not a big fan of fan cards as they normally seem to be overpowered or unbalanced. However, these eagle cards seem well designed.
