i would optimize a little bit, means take more use of Boromir ability and increase the gondortheme using Visionary Leadership

then make more gondor-allies. to do that i would discard:

add:

who should get the steward? if Boromir i would replace the Westfold Lancer with some ld-gondor-allies

Thanks for your comment. Due to shadow effects and some sorceries, I don't want to have so many copies of the same card: discarding a blocker due to shadow effect (because i have another copy of that ally in the discard pile) results in undefended from Thaurdir, which means a loss. Boromir is there for the stats, not for his ability, which is situational: 5 HP means a "safe" undefended from some enemies. Steward goes on Arwen, with Elven Spear and elven light she is the drawing engine.

i remember the nasty shadows in carn dum, but i think you still have enough chumpies still using these 3 copies (the first time, you can use one o the 3 copies, only after that it becomes dangerous) cannot understand why, you no not like Boromirs ability, not only good or fighting, also for battlequest what you get in carn dum.

Elven Spear + Elven-light + Steward of Gondor seems not effective for me. a 3-card-combo to get it rolling and even with only 1 Elven-light Arwen Undómiel do not need the spear, it seems not the best option to me. to make it worh, you need at least 2 Elven-light and a spear. not something i would call solid. if using weapons Foe-hammer seems the cheaper option to me.

I do like Boromir's ability, though I found in my dozens of playthrough that one copy of a chump is better than a gondor swarm (treacheries also force you to discard multiple copies allies while quesing, for example). Elven Spear helps Arwen in battle questing and/or in killing enemies if not committed to the quest. Anyway, thanks for your suggestions, I will give a try!

actually i see you do not use A Test of Will o.k. if you eat every "when revealed" faceup (discard an ally or discard from deck....), then you might need those extra 1-card-chumps.

i did not use Tale of Tinúviel much, did it work fine in carn dum?

I found Tale of Tinuviel very useful, because Aragorn can block and kill almost all the orcs in the encounter deck with Arwen's will power (Def = 5 and ATK = 6 with + his - 1 DEF to the enemy bonus). With another attacker, can kill also the Garrison and the Werewolf. It was a card I rarely have used, but I found it's a huge help in this scenario.

btw. (i do not want to bother you, but i remember the time i struggled with carn dum and perhaps it helps ;) ) the cheapest chump is the good old Feint it will also negate shadoweffects, because it cancels the whole attack.

:) no problem, thanks for suggetions! Yes, but shadow cards did not get discarded while at stage 1, so I prefer single copy ally chump.
