DECK NAME - Property Managers

https://youtu.be/VSaTTn-AoXc

OVERVIEW - This deck is all about rushing the quest by keeping threat low, ignoring enemies in the staging area, and exploring any locations that enter play ASAP. Deck can win in as little as 2 rounds.

HEROES

  • Eowyn - gives us the needed to outpace in the staging area
  • Frodo - boost w Arwen Undómiel; his response can help against attacks from the staging area
  • Glorfindel - attach Light of Valinor

STRATEGY

  • SETUP - select Uruk Soldier and Ancient Harbor to add to the staging area
  • OPENING HAND - hard mulligan for Light of Valinor
  • PROGRESS ON ACTIVE LOCATION - you can't put progress on locations in staging but you can on the active location; included The Riddermark's Finest and 3X Strength of Will as there are some 2-progress locations as well as Ride to Ruin and 6X Rohan allies for the 3-progress locations; you can often use these effects to clear the active location before the end of round and meet the win condition
  • THREAT REDUCTION - 3X Elrond's Counsel, The Galadhrim's Greeting, and Dwarven Tomb; keep your threat under 25 to leave enemies in the staging area
  • CARD DRAW - Ancient Mathom and 3X Song of Eärendil; best to save Gandalf for damage
  • ANCIENT HARBOR - since we selected this during setup we can actually exhaust up to 3 heroes in combat phase to put 1 progress a piece on AH; it's great to get a few allies out and not commit your heroes in round 1 (Glorfindel can quest with LOV) but don't hold heroes back from questing if it means you take a massive threat hit; we don't want to engage enemies; if no location comes out in first 2 rounds, you can win the scenario using the hero exhaustion method (just takes 5)
  • ORC VANGUARD - this is the worst card for us in the encounter deck; it can't stay in staging or we can't spend any resources; engage asap and use a chump + Gandalf's damage ability and attack to destroy

"Frodo - attach Unexpected Courage;" - doesn't appear to be any UC in this version. Keep up the great series, really enjoying it!
