I always wanted to have a deck that features Radagast more prominently. For some reason they excluded him from being used with Messenger of the King so this is probably the next best thing.

At the End of All Things searches us Radagast and Radagast's Staff in round 4. The contract makes both the early game and the mid-to-late game pretty resource starved. Radagast and his staff are perfect for counteracting that and dishing out the more expensive allies later in the game.

Widfast lets us start with Eagles of the Misty Mountains which turns every discarded eagle into a useful attachment as soon as turn 1.

Faunith is for the most part just a Tactics Eagle hero to make Gwaihir's Debt live as soon as Radagast hits the field.
But his effect has been surprisingly useful actually. As already said you are going to be pretty resource starved in the first few rounds, Faunith lets you be very frugal with your resource spending, only having to commit to playing allies at the end of the quest phase when all encounter cards are already revealed, leaving those resources unspent for A Test of Will or hoarding them for next round.

Flame of Anor is probably the most questionable card in here. Use it either on Radagast or in case Gandalf happens to be air dropped by Gwaihir's Debt.
I just like the idea of Radagast also having his "Flame of Anor" moment once.

The 1+hitpoint from Spare Pipe gets around the healing restriction and is mainly for Widfast who is going to be our main defender in the early game. Radagast can heal pretty much anyone else.

The deck is pretty solid I'd say. At the beginning you can quest for 8 willpower and still defend with Widfast if need be. The subsequent rounds can be a bit rough since most other allies don't have much willpower but at least combat wise you should be very much safe.

If you happen to do any quests that discard cards from your deck in any way, don't forget to slot in more copies of Radagast and his staff, he might get discarded and the deck more or less falls apart.

i would go 3 Meneldor that is up to 12 progress on locations. the Northern Tracker not this much needed and you have more eagles that makes the deck more efficient. Widfast is also good with her ability against locations, i think the tracker are not needed with max. meneldor, perhaps put in 1-2 Stand and Fight to make more use of meneldor.

would include her bird Gavin once its nice to have

@doomguard

3x Meneldor is a good point, though I also like the Northern Trackers here.
I usually play in a 4 person multiplayer setting and location lock tends to come up quite a bit. And idk I kinda felt like I am wasting the access to Spirit sphere already as it is.

I tried Stand and Fight for a bit but it ended up dead more often than not since I had the Eagles of the Misty Mountains eat up all of the discarded ones. I guess I could try to play less greedy and strategically let some eagles into the discard pile, but I am not sure whether this is really worth the occasional payoff with Stand and Fight.
I've been also thinking about cutting Gwaihir as well for that matter, but he is still an okay quester at the end of the day.

I never understood the appeal of Gavin. Sure the 1 resource is even more valuable here than in other decks but is that worth the ~30% chance to get another location in the staging area? I am not a gambling person, I'd rather not deal with that conundrum at all lol

I'll be thinking a bit about your Meneldor vs Northern Tracker point. And maybe add back Stand and Fight again. Definitely worth some testing.
Thank you for your input.

This is nice deck, i build a similar one few weeks with the same idea, play Radagast and his staff.

I think Strider could be a good option.

It's non thematic but Inner Strength on Widfast could be a good option too.

with player i would also keep the tracker. according to Gavin get another location is not this bad because of Widfast ability. make a location 2. actie reduces the chances to get location locked. and if there is no thread of location lock, more locations are usually not this dangerous
