Ah, ok. Are Legacy of Numenor and Deep Knowledge crucial for this deck to work? I don't have those cards, but I have all the others...

Hm, I don't ever proxy cards....I find printed copies, even with extra paper or so on, don't properly mimic having the actual card. Oh well. I can try this out on OCTGN I guess.

For proxies, you can just put in a different card, like Tighten Our Belts, and pretend that it is actually Legacy of Numenor.

Sometimes I slip a little piece of paper into the sleeve with the name of the proxied card to remind me.

Ah, that would work for me alone, but I often teach new players how to play LOTR or play with others who know the rules but haven't played often--I think that might confuse or annoy them. The game is hard enough to get new people into already...I wish FFG would allow us to order individual cards, but because of their price modeling based on adventure packs I think that is unlikely to come any time soon.

If you are teaching others how to play, this is definitely the wrong deck. It's weird and plays a bunch of doomed cards.

Yeah, the main reason I wanted to use this one is because it has few allies, and features lore Bilbo--both things which I think would interest some new players. (Most of the decks I use have over 20 allies apiece.) Unfortunately most of the other decks using Lore Bilbo in a reliable fashion require Folco Boffin, for example, or other cards from Harad or APs I don't have...
