Low threat - Na'asiyah with friends

Description

This fellowship combines several approaches that I have been playing recently. My latest Na'asiyah deck (http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/8737/na-asiyah-in-good-spirits-1.0) uses the excellent engine of Arwen + Galadriel, while for two-handed play I enjoyed playing with another mono-spirit deck (http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/7412/mono-spirit-best-of-3.0) and a combat-focused tactics-deck (http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/7416/bard-and-eagles-mono-tactics-1.0).

Here I use a spirit-deck with Glorfindel instead of Cirdan for a significantly lower starting-threat, while Na'asiyah joins ranks with the best defender in the game and Eowyn, who supports questing and has the ability to kill some big-ass enemy whenever necessary.

Note that both decks start at an amazingly low threat (23 / 24), so that you have some time for setup before engaging the tougher enemies. The focus early-game should be on questing, with the option to clear some side-quests on the way. This turtling approach does not work vs scenarios with time-pressure, obviously, but in most cases it does - and is a lot of fun.

Some strategic advise:

  • Spirit-deck: Mulligan for Nenya, Light of Valinor, Unexpected Courage or Elven-light to get the engine running. Unexpected Courage usually goes to Beregond, but Na'asiyah can also use one. And if you find Nenya early, Galadriel is happy to get an extra-action, too.
  • Tactics-deck: Mulligan for Gondorian Shield. A hand with a Dagger + Foe-hammer is also fine.
  • Elf-Friend goes on Na'asiyah, so Arwen can send resources her way.
  • Note that Jubayr has Sentinel, so he can help the Tactics-deck in combat.
  • Both decks have side-quests, so Riders of Rohan should become good quite early.
  • If one deck finds Gather Information, you can use it to grab the other copy in the other deck.
  • If you have to deal with multiple enemies at once, don't quest with Eowyn, but use her action to kill 2 enemies in one round.
  • Galadriel can help both decks with card-draw and threat-reduction.

Successful playtesting so far:

  • Journey down the Anduin (Nightmare)
  • Foundations of Stone
  • The Steward's Fear
  • The Three Trials
  • The Battle of Carn Dum (3rd attempt, but still)
  • A Storm on Coba's Haven
  • The Mumakil
  • Murder at the Prancing Pony
  • The Siege of Annuminas (standard-mode)
