I started playing the LOTR LCG near the very start, during the Mirkwood cycle. The Eagle cards I had at the time sat mostly unused for a good long while - I splashed a few in a deck once in a while, but the idea of a dedicated Eagle deck that could be played solo wasn't possible at the time.
Meneldor, I think, was the final missing piece necessary to make the eagles soar.
This deck exists as a proof of concept that a thematic Eagle deck is viable. A cheeky copy of Radagast is the only non-Eagle ally included. The Istari remains under powered, but if played in the early game is resource generation is very beneficial.
The main idea behind this deck is to trade board construction for action advantage. Eagles will bounce back to hand all the time, and the deck rarely has the opportunity to accumulate resources.
I found the deck to be able to hold his own against a variety of quests. Being able to quest for 11 on the first turn with all three heroes, and then plop a solid defender into play if an enemy turned up, can make for a very strong start.
