This is a progression style deck for The Watcher in the Water in solo.

The strategy I go with is to convert a bunch of damage to threat through Frodo Baggins so that you are able to engage the Watcher in the final round without needing to kill every Tentacle enemy. (The Watcher has 48 engagement cost and cannot be optionally engaged if you're engaged with Tentacle enemies). Once you're engaged, pop down your threat with Aragorn and you're good to go.

Mulligan for Gléowine. The most important thing for this deck to get going is the card draw. The heroes can hold there own for several rounds while you get set up to take down the watcher. Each is capable of defending.

You'll need 16 to take down the Watcher in one hit. I considered Citadel Plate in an earlier draft, but it is too expensive in a tri-sphere and there are more effective ways of raising your overall attack, especially if it's just for a one shot. Gimli with 2 damage, 3 Vassals and 3 Khazâd! Khazâd! gives you 22 for only 3 cost! And that is more than enough. There's also Dwarrowdelf Axe to help pick off other enemies while you wait for the Watcher to show up.

The Galadhrim's Greeting is included because of a couple Doomed 5 encounter cards in the deck. These can be nasty at the wrong time.

Choose 1 for Zigil Miner since 1 cost cards make up half the deck.

I use Henamarth Riversong to more safely determine whether or not I want to attack a Tentacle with a forced effect. Remember to commit other allies to the attack so that Gimli doesn't take any negative attachments.

Fun deck! Went 2/3 with it; thanks for the piloting tips. Aragorn worked as planned and the deck provided a few different ways to get to that 16 attack to take out the watcher in one attack.
