This deck was developed to tackle the beast that is the Defense of Cair Andros. I speak to that specific quest in my log, but as far as this deck goes its basically all about the damage.
Born Aloft works equally well for either Descendant of Thorondor as well as Gandalf. If you can stick a Spear of the Citadel on a Gondorian Spearman, with those two plus Thalin you can kill any 3 health foe you might encounter. With any of your 3x two damage events ready you can kill even higher health enemies.
Of course any mono-tactics deck is going to struggle with willpower, and this deck is no different. It was built for the Defense which is a quest made up (nearly) entirely of Battle and Siege stages. If you needed to tackle standard willpower questing you'd certainly want to swap in Bofur (the tactics version) as well as possibly the Envoy of Pelargir.
Generally you want to stick to threat reduction with Gandalf, although since you don't start with high threat if the quest isn't seriously attacking your threat levels you might use him for the extra card draw as well. You do have Foe-hammer for card-draw so your hand shouldn't run too dry. The cost-curve is aimed at balancing for a steady 3 resources a turn since I couldn't make room for meaningful resource acceleration.
It was a fun deck to play. It certainly can't do everything. But in the right circumstances it's pretty great. Maybe you will enjoy it as well! :)
Not even 1 Gondorian Shield for Beregond?
