the more unlikely than the restrictions for unlikely friendship (celeborn and dain) are perhaps gildor and dain. these two are the core. celeborn + dain is kind of obvious (friedship is playable, dain defends celeborn gives his bonus for the silvans). gildor helps for the mining from the start! and not only for the mining, he can be used to get the expensive allies in with a cheap tree people.
in this combination elronds council is also an option. with the high startingthread and the one ring, it is needed.
the start: so try to get zigil in your starting hand, or tree people + a unique silvan. in both cases use gildor, either to make the most of zigil, or change a card with the unique silvan. then use zigil or a cheap silvan with tree people.
all attachements exept perhaps 1 courage, goes to dain, 2. courage perhaps to gildor.
in multiplayer if another player want the ring, exchance the ring and inner strength with shadowcancelling or courage + another armor
if you want to make more of gildors ability, put very good tale in.
I just want to say, that you have to shuffle your deck before discarding cards from your deck, when you play A Very Good Tale.
