inspired by the discussion of the one deck and there its said to give vilya-4-friends a shot, here a first idea from me.
some small things that can catch the eye, you do not need all of them, but the more you get, the better
- shining shield for eleanor and elrond makes them both nice defender
- merry get bonus in mount doom and 5 armys from bilbo or frodo
- you can get it to a decent boardstatus using only few allies and more attachements at mount doom
- chance for captured elrond is only 25 at escape from dol guldur
- ally pippin and sam good combination against enemys with higher thread
- captains wisdom + eleanor would be a good start (if vilya and courage on hand, would be a perfect start)
- 2 good harvest can help pay for expensive cards
- steward for elrond makes paying for allies much easier
in my first version i had frodo, but that does not work with the campaign. then fatty. he is not this bad. often a szenario starts with an enemy with high thread, but in the end, i think eleanor is the better choice, to be safe to nasty tracheries from the setup on.
another idea would be, replace merry with tacticeowyn. that would help in carn dum and battle of 5 armies, but less attackforce in the long run. in this case Friend of Friends had to be replaced perhaps by The White Council
