It's just a fun solo deck. The biggest difference of this deck and other outland decks is that I put more flags in it,Rohan's flag(Rallying Cry),Gondor's flag(For Gondor!),Banner of Elendil and a flag I'm not sure(Strength of Arms). The biggest question might be how to play Banner of Elendil, use A Good Harvest. So,that's all,if you want to try it,just do it.

Sep 10, 2016Can Banner of Elendil be played without a Fellowship resource match, though? |

Sep 10, 2016From the Black Riders rules insert: "While most of the included player cards are fully compatible with all published The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game scenarios, a select few are only intended for use when playing the scenarios presented in The Lord of the Rings Saga Expansions. These are the Fellowship sphere cards: Frodo Baggins and Frodo’s Intuition". Seastan also said that he asked a couple weeks ago whether Good Harvest could be used to pay for Fellowship cards, and the developers told him "no". But I don't have any links to that ruling-- I was also operating under the assumption that it could, becaues Fellowship is a sphere. |
Sep 10, 2016Now that you point out the quote from The Black Riders, I see that there is a similar passage on page 4 of the Flame of the West rules. It lists Banner of Elendil, Aragorn, and the Esquire boons. Obviously, FFG isn't going to come to your house and take away your cards if you want to house rule it but strictly speaking it doesn't work. |

I personally think "rules" like this are open to interpretation. I play a deck that uses both Spirit Pippin and Lore Pippin, and I think it's fine. The game is meant to be fun, and if ignoring things like uniqueness rules or using fellowship cards outside of saga quests makes it more fun, then that's great! I really like your deck, by the way. I really like the idea of building a deck based on a theme like what pictures are on the cards. I never even notice the pictures on the cards anymore, so this is a great idea to get me looking at the pictures and thinking about the cards in a new way. A "flag" deck just seems like such a great idea. |
