UPDATE: I dropped Longbeard Orc Slayer. Instead one more Navis Belt one Horn of Gondor and one Kili get in.
My first Deck. I'm not sure if the Kili/Fili Reaction and the Orc Slayer is worth it...let me know!

Aug 05, 2022Thanks for your feedback. I was lucky in my first playthrough and got Fili first and Kili in the deck! I restarted LotR with the revised set and everything to the Angmar expansions. So cards from other expansions aren't available for me yet. However A very good tale sounds awesome! Longbeard Orc Slayer costs way too much if there aren't any orcs. So I think i change that... I'll keep u updated! |
The Kili/ Fili Response is fantastic when followed up with A Very Good Tale or when they enable allies like Ori, Thorin Oakenshield, and Glóin. Other than that, I'm not dwarven enough to know their worth; I'd use them as a 2 for 1 meat shield.
As for Longbeard Orc Slayer, I have never been a fan of the "Orc specific" effects but probably foolishly so. I'm newish to the game and I've jumped around between expansions and may have just missed the Orc heavy quests. I prefer more well rounded effects or cheaper allies with the same stats.
Longbeard Orc Slayer may be good during Orc heavy quests but could be an overly cost ally (dead weight) for some other expansions. Basically, Each quest/expansion differs enough that you'll be tweaking this deck as you go along. So, its hard to say if he's "worth it" because that depends on the quest you're doing. But that's what makes the game fun and surprising, as your deck fails, you'll tweak it to the situation; it won't be a "1 deck to rule them all" (please ignore the Hall of Famer The One Deck haha).
