Na'asiyah is one of my favorite heroes from a narrative standpoint. Yet I haven't had a chance to put her through her paces quite as much as I would like. This deck is one of the more successful attempts. It uses Arwen and Denethor as her partners, which to be fair gives many decks a chance at success no matter who the third hero is, but in this case they are designed to support Na'asiyah. The main goal here is to have Na'asiyah handle the majority of combat, while Arwen and many of the allies take care of questing. With this delineation, much of the deck is thus geared towards bolstering Na'asiyah, while the rest brings the willpower.
In terms of setting up, Na'asiyah, the pieces are:
- Denethor allows for an early Steward of Gondor on Na'asiyah. This allows her to get the maximum use out of her ability.
- Arwen/Elven Light bring the card draw so you can get at those attachments.
- Dunedain Signal/Armored Destrier: The Signal is designed to give sentinel to Na'asiyah so that she can equip the Armored Destrier. Basically, readying is the most important aspect of a Na'asiyah deck (besides resources), as you need to be able to ready her if you want to defend and attack, or defend/attack multiple times. Armored Destrier also allows for getting rid of shadows. Song of Kings was another option to get Destrier on Na'asiyah, but I like the Signal for its multiplayer applications.
- Firefoot: This attachment is gold and I might actually invest in a second copy. The key here is that Na'asiyah can use her ability to boost up to a nasty level of attack, then spill the damage over using Firefoot.
- Unexpected Courage: More readying for Nassy.
- Quick Strike: Allows Na'asiyah to clobber an enemy before it can attack. Can be paired with Firefoot for even more fun.
Not too tricky of a deck, but it does require a couple of rounds to set up. This was designed to be a viable solo Na'asiyah deck but it can work in multiplayer thanks to the Signal, provided you can convince the others to let you take Steward.
I like it!
With Arwen in the group, you might consider Elf-friend as an additional way to give Na'asiyah even more resources. I would also try to find slots for a bunch of copies of Sneak Attack.
