jww has a newer deck inspired by this one: Blunt the knives and bend the forks!

There is a knock at the door. A dwarf stands on the doorstep, and Bilbo, ever the gracious host, invites him in. But before he knows it, more and more dwarves trickle into his home, their arrival turning what began as an unexpected visit into a full-fledged gathering (with Nori subtly easing any tension).

After a series of bewildering exchanges and the signing of contracts, thirteen dwarves set forth on a daring quest. The company exudes an air of wealth, with none more regal or commanding than their leader, Thorin Oakenshield. (His influence grows stronger when five dwarves are present, as if drawing strength from their numbers.) Amid the excitement, Bilbo forgets not only his handkerchief but also his hat—though this later proves fortuitous, leaving room to carry additional tools. he sighs "Without My hat. Yeah.. A burglar, indeed!"

Their journey is guided in part by Gandalf the Grey, whose comings and goings often coincide with moments of peril. When absent, the company frequently finds itself in dire straits, only for Gandalf to return at the crucial hour, wielding his wizardly might to tip the scales in their favor. Along the way, they encounter Elrond, the wise Elf-lord, who imparts vital information about their quest. His insights discard doubts, reveal opportunities (drawing cards or healing wounds), and set them on a surer path forward.

At times, the company finds itself ill-prepared, lacking the proper weapons, equipment, or artifacts to face their foes. Yet fortune smiles upon them, and they uncover treasures and tools during their travels, each discovery bolstering their resolve and sharpening their edge.

Among the company, Balin proves to be both a sage counselor and a practical ally. With the aid of the Ring of Thrór and a knack for taking initiative, he discards obstacles (cards from the draw deck) and remains ever ready to assist. Ori and Bifur diligently gather intelligence (drawing cards to arm the company with knowledge), while Gloin, despite his miserly tendencies, reluctantly parts with gold to fund their journey.

Like his brother Balin, Dwalin ensures the company’s resources are wisely managed, while Bofur’s zeal inspires their collective willpower. Fili and Kili, inseparable even in battle, meet a tragic fate together, something Dori strives desperately to prevent. Bombur, despite his unassuming demeanor, ensures the company stays on the right path—a task not without its challenges.

The journey also brings them into the company of Beorn, the skin-changer. Though not particularly fond of dwarves, Beorn provides Thorin and his companions with food, supplies, and guidance after Gandalf wins him over with tales of their adventures. Beorn’s generosity grants them a brief respite, but sometimes even wise counsel is insufficient, and the company must be saved by other means.

In moments of great need, Wilyador and his kin soar to their rescue, ensuring that Bilbo and his newfound friends can press onward. Together, they face the trials ahead, each challenge forging their bonds deeper and bringing them ever closer to the fulfillment of their quest.

I love your Idea, and your description is amazing. Thank you for sharing.

sorry to ruin your day, but A Burglar Indeed! is not an item or artifact, so cannot be used with the contract.

for thematic reason i could imagine to houserule that, but officially its not allowed ;)

@doomguard, you should read my description and especially the part about that Bilbo forgot his hat. Without my hat allows you to: Action: Add Without My Hat to the victory display to search your collection for an attachment. If no copy of that attachment was in your deck during setup, add it to your hand.

So you can play it from your collection, while it's not in any deck. Just bending a fork here!

Without My Hat say it must come from outside your deck, the way it is put in the sideboard it indicates it is inside your lootdeck. but if its not, then it go the way you wanted. because it is 15 not 14 in the sideboard i could have it seen for myself, but i did not. in your description you did not use the link Without My Hat neither A Burglar Indeed! so it was not clear to me, that it was a clarification of the strategy.

thx for the clarification ;) happy questing!
