Wandalf the Gizzard 2485
This Rohan/Eagles deck was inspired by the fact that those traits are both fueled by allies leaving play. This is what I came up with from just the Shadows of Mirkwood and Core Set pool.
The general strategy is to churn out chump blockers, having at least one on the table at all times. That way I can quest with Éowyn and Imrahil, have an emergency defender in Boromir if I don’t have an ally to block, and swing back with my two Gondorian one-man armies.
The cards in the deck fill a couple of roles:
Cancellation: Dúnedain Watcher, Test of Will, Hasty Stroke
Resource Control and Card Draw: Horn of Gondor (for Éowyn), Parting Gifts (whomever), Ancient Mathom, Valiant Sacrifice.
Unlucky Army Fuel: almost all of the allies, Stand and Fight.
And of course, Gandalf is a category of his own. (pesky, out of place Blade of Gondolin!)
So throw all those poor allies under the bus and you should be just fine with the might of Gondor and Rohan’s finest heroes.

Nov 25, 2017While Support of the Eagles could work well in this deck, three tactics resources is hard to stomach in a tri-sphere deck; especially when you're trying to get out lots of allies. Also, with only six eagle allies that all will be leaving play, it's not as consistent as I'd like. It's definitely a good consideration though. Thanks for your thoughts! |
Where's Support of the Eagles?
