Rimogard 309
The threat ramps up quite rapidly, but the deck is quite fun solo. Beorn is there to hold your position while you are building a viable board presence.
The main combos are:
- Captain's Wisdom + Greenwood Archers to get them out for free
- Sneak Attack + Gandalf: for card draw and reducing threat
- King Under the Mountain for card draw
- A Very Good Tale to help you build your board quickly, which is necessary with such a high starting threat
The main idea was to include heroes and characters from a thematic standpoint, related to the battle of five armies from The Hobbit - Thorin, Beorn, Gloin, Gandalf, Dale characters, dwarven warriors, silvan warriors, eagles.
Captain's Wisdom is awesome, because it can help you get into play big allies on turn one (Knights of Dale, Longbeard Elders). And this can help you "tell" A Very Good Tale quite quickly. The Secret Vigils are important for reducing your threat, which starts at 33. Favor of the Valar is there just in case you are about to threat out.
Try to get at least three more dwarves as soon as possible to be able to use Thorin's resource generation.
So far, the deck has been successful solo against Journey Along the Anduin, Massing at Osgiliath, Watcher in the Water, The Battle of Five Armies, Road to Rivendell.
