WingfootRanger 2742
I built this deck in response to some of the harder Angmar Awakened quests, with all their hordes of undead. It mainly concerns itself with a steady buildup of ents and a enough healing to prevent untimely deaths. I imagined Elrond marching to the North to put an end to Angmar, using his healing abilities to fortify a force of ents.
In the beginning of the game, getting Steward of Gondor on Elrond is top priority, once we have that all our ents will have an easier time getting played. Elrond will be our main defender most of the time with A Burning Brand and his healing boost helps keep everyone alive. Also, how could you not love Lembas plus Treebeard? In addition to Daeron's Runes and Entmoot, we also have Gléowine and Imladris Stargazer. Together those two are a major help with sifting through the deck for what you need, with Gleowine allowing you to choose from among the cards the stargazer shows you. Galadhrim Weaver lets us save an important card from being the discard pile and allows us to shuffle our deck as well if the stargazer's scrying shows us a lot of cards we don't want at the time.
All in all, it can be a bit slow (especially without Steward of Gondor in the beginning), but it becomes tremendously powerful. These ents are a force of nature! Even though it lacks treachery cancellation, a lot of protection is afforded by that Burning Brand and all the healing.

Jul 22, 2016Thanks for the spotlight! I just noticed the deck actually had core set Gandalf rather than the OHaUH version. I updated the deck here: ringsdb.com |
