SirK 5
Core Set Only, first 50 card build to start adventuring.
Trying out some powerful Spirit cards under the assumption that Aragorn will get + keep a copy of CelebrÃan's Stone - will likely need to rebalance as there's little card draw without Lore access in the deck (Sneak Attack + Gandalf being the best card draw available in the deck).
Steward of Gondor on Aragorn, as deck has relatively equal Leadership and Tactics, plus he's resource hungry from questing.
Overall slight concern on Ally/Attachment/Event Balance.

Oct 17, 2021Thanks, I took this build through my first two scenarios on 'normal' and Will of the West was a definite dead card the entire time. Didn't put together that Valiant Sacrifice trigged with Gandalf and passed over it, will definitely take a look in future builds. Other thoughts was that as amazing as Beorn is, I didn't really have the resources to play him (though that may just be because I stupidly had Gimli tank a huge hit at the start of the second quest and get discarded due to a shadow card knocking him up to 5 damage on the first turn. I likewise found it hard to ever play the Longbeard Orc Slayer except when I was already ahead on the board (at which point he was less useful). I'll probably swap him out for some other cheap blockers that can trigger some card draw. |
Oct 17, 2021Sounds like good changes to make. I might also suggest some Feint, so you don't have to risk some of those larger attacks and losing your heroes. |
Valiant Sacrifice might be a good card to include - it's very likely you're going to block with Snowbourn Scout, as well as Gandalf naturally leaving play.
Will of the West would be a good candidate to remove, as given the relative lack of card draw it's unlikely you'll be able to go through enough of your deck to require the shuffle back. You also have multiple copies of most cards so don't need to shuffle back searching for the single copy of an important one.
