Merry does a fantastic job at keeping your threat low. This simulates the courage and rage the Ents exhibited during their last march on Isengard; and, how Sauron's threat couldn't stop them.
Pippin's card draw is fantastic at helping rally all the nearby Ents to the fight.
Quickbeam, in the novel, quickly sides with Merry's assertion that Saruman must be dealt with. During the attack on Isengard, Quickbeam was the first to lead the charge. He deserves this Hero title.
Your party's courage can be contagious to the fellowship when the Song of EƤrendil is heard. However, if you have no fellowship to hear your song, it would be ideal to sub it out.
