NERD 808

I recently found out about the Second Breakfast challenges. I could not find any specific rules, so I hope this deck is allowed. For the eleventh challenge, decks had to include the following three themes:

  1. Spirit
  2. Artifact
  3. Shadow cancelation

My deck meets these themes in a variety of ways. While I only have a single hero, Elrond can buy spirit allies and Gandalf can purchase spirit cards from the top of your deck. In addition, Vilya gives Elrond a icon. Speaking of which, Vilya is the backbone of this deck.

It satisfies the need for a central artifact and can buy all of the expensive allies for free. Gandalf sees what Vilya will hit, and his pipe lets you choose. He also gives access to his artifacts. Galadriel rounds out the group, providing card draw, threat reduction, and more artifacts.

Shadow cancelation is guaranteed on the first turn through Inner Strength. Jubayr and Hasty Stroke also satisfy the third requirement. In particular, Jubayr fits extremely well with this deck. He is expensive enough to be aided by Elf-stone (another artifact) and Vilya. He can also be potent when boosted by Narya.

Lastly, the Fellowship contract seemed wrong not to include as nearly all of the allies were already unique. However, it is just a win-more card. If you wanted to fully perfect this deck for solo play, add Henamarth Riversong. He can also protect you against shadows.

Thank you for reading! Feedback is appreciated!

I really like the deck, but part of the challenge is to beat a quest and this one s Danger in Pelargir and this deck has insane threat, your threat elimination is reduced due to the One Ring, no treachery cancelation, not much threat reduction - in normal situation, it would be ok, but there is a nasty treachery there which makes you discard cards from top of encounter deck and for each location, you need to raise your threat by 2. and you have to do it for every single copy of that thing in the discard pile! And to make things worse, there is a location, which makes it additional 1 per location.

Overall, I like it, but I am wondering how it would hold against this one and I really threated out on that treachery before! Did you try it and how did it go?

I did not realize you had to beat Peril in Pelargir. I revised the deck to try the quest. I absolutely crushed it on the first try. I had a mediocre start, but I quickly cleared the board by using sidequests so I could quest normally, allowing my high attack characters to be ready during combat. Once I got Vilya, I quickly hit nine characters. I took out a quest card each turn from there with plenty of excess. I am going to try the nightmare version when I have time. Here is my revised deck:

It is not optimized at all.

It is ok, I did not state it in my deck, but yes, how it works, it is on the Card talk channel on youtube every other week on Sunday, there are two decks, and a quest you should use them on. So I hope it explains some of my deck "mishaps" such as no Silver Circlet due to it being a battle quest for the most part. And nice and good for you!

The second deck is SmĂ©agol , DĂșnhere and healer! I am already testing my deck and hoping to publish it soon! What I hope is that this will challenge me and test my mediocre deck building skills!
