I found this scenario to be a bit easier solo.
Thalin quickly dispatches the annoying bats in this scenario and provides access to the invaluable cards of Feint and Quick Strike
Bifur Makes playing a Tri-color deck so much easier and his 2 questing helps a lot.
Thorin Oakenshield provides great stats especially after Bilbo Baggins gives him Orcrist. Also there's enough dwarves in the deck to have a good shot at activating Thorin's ability.
Use Bilbo Baggins and his Bilbo's Magic Ring to dig out Sting and Orcrist ASAP.
With Errand-rider, Envoy of Pelargir, Narvi's Belt, and Bifur there are plenty of ways to get resources to the heroes who need them most.
King Under the Mountain, Legacy of Durin, Daeron's Runes and A Very Good Tale provide this deck with much needed card draw.
The ideal opening hand would have something that provides card draw, a cheap ally for chump blocking, and either a Feint or Quick Strike. Mulligan for a hand that gives you 2 of those 3 and it'll be a good start.
