my trial to make a rumildeck thats worth the name:
- rumil is theoreticially playable 1. round (discount by contract) (mostly i do not recomand this)
- many options to swap the eagles with heros in the sideboar)d, depending on need of the circumstances (e.g. more willpower celeborn, more fighting, gwaihir)
- with Captain's Wisdom + Steward of Gondor + contract its possible to play him twice in a round (take back with some of the events or The Elvenking )
carddraw mainly by The Eagles Are Coming! combined with contract get eagles- and silvancards
usage of the contract, decidable every round (in addition to discount):
-
Thranduil playing an eagle with his ability
-
Alagos with his ability
-
Faunith with his ability
-
The Elvenking or one of the take-back eventś
-
Hidden Roosts with a silvan (preferable Rúmil)
-
O Lórien! with an eagle
-
Silvan Tracker to heal eagles and silvans
-
Orophin to get eagle back
-
(if playing with Celeborn use his buff also for eagles)
-
(if playing with Gwaihir he readies also on silvan-allies)
this deck can pile up some willpower even if its more of a fightingdeck. the eagleheroes start with 5 and all allies that have not ranged have at least 1 willpower, and some allies have 2 willpower (Eagles of the Misty Mountains, Orophin, Meneldor, Haldir of Lórien the Eagle of the North)
build up rumils ability: there are 10 allies with cost of 1 or 2 that have ranged and some with more cost

Oct 18, 2023Haldir of Lórien has ranged and 2 willower so top or this strategy. in this deck, Rúmil has a real impact, because i can play him often and i play him from lets say round 3 every round for 3+ wounds that is an impact and does make it better. in solo Henamarth Riversong is a good addition. card draw is perhaps a little bit an issue but i would not underestimate The Eagles Are Coming! with contract it is likely worth 4 cards and perhaps another The Eagles Are Coming! within them. then this deck recycle allies and take them back and play again. but we differ in the basestratey what it means a "rumil"-deck. i need a repeatable appearance with real impact (e.g. take out a medium or bigger enemy out per round) , you seem to have the mind, its enough if he hits one time and kill a big enemy. these are different strategies. this deck would be much weaker without rumil, or have to be altered. a Marksman of Lórien is not as good as Rúmil here because rumil kills an enemy before he has to be defended. that would be not much of a deal if it happens once a game, but each round (lets say from 3+ on) it would make a difference and pile up to perhaps make 7-8 wounds at the end. in our other deck, there is no discount. play him for 3 cost (only O Lórien!) ) is to much for my taste. |
First problem, card drawing .. just The Eagles Are Coming! and Hidden Roosts , it’s not enough. Second, in solo, willpower will be a real problem .. with Celeborn too. Ans, I prefer Celeborn to Alagos (resources are not a problem)
Why Haldir of Lórien is here ? In solo he s not realy strong … you not prefer Marksman of Lórien ?
If this deck is realy to play in solo, Henamarth Riversong is probably top tier choice ;)
To finish: you tell me my Rúmil deck is just a Silvan/hobbit deck because Rumil is not necessary … but for this deck too .. you ve got just 11 ranged characters, little card draw .. and a few cards to up Rumil in your hand ..
I repet again and again sorry ;) but in solo, I think it s very complicated . But in multiplayer ok, this deck is very good !
I build a multiplayer deck for Rúmil s ability , full fight ! It s a beta deck, never tested : ringsdb.com
