Warden of Arnor 5782

The release of Éomer in Mountain of Fire gave us a neat 2-sphere hero lineup of three heroes each with 1 and an ability requiring them to be committed to the quest. So naturally I had to try putting them together at some point. It actually works out as a fairly effective if quirky combat deck.

Obviously the primary idea is to power up Éomer and keep threat down so he can just snipe enemies out of the staging area. However sometimes low engagement costs and threat raises will come up, not to mention more than one enemy appearing at a time (since this deck is obviously only intended for multiplayer games). In those instances the intent is that the allies can handle the defences, and some can potentially help with attacking back as well. The primary attacker is still Éomer though - with Heir of Mardil and Théodred he can be readied after committing to the quest and thus attack again in the Combat phase, and with Firefoot he can apply overspill damage from his staging area attack to an engaged enemy. Since he can potentially reach 10 and the enemies will be already damaged by Thalin and possibly Anborn this can work out very well. With Gúthwinë he can also continually recycle the various Rohan allies who are covering defensive duties.

Quirky is a great word for it! Fun idea, and just the kind of thing I'm likely to put together sometime and take for a spin.
