A Tactics staple. Defender of Rammas gives you an awesome 4 defense for 2 resources, with minimal wasted points in other areas. His 1 hit point makes him vulnerable to treacheries and direct damage, so consider bringing along Gondorian Discipline, Honour Guard, or loading him up with some attachments (Raiment of War?) Take care of these guys and they can nullify 20+ points of damage over the course of a game, easy.

It doesn't get much more efficient stat-wise than Defender of Rammas. 2 resources for 4 defense and no Winged Guardian-like drawback is unparalleled, making this ally an amazing defender and siege quester. Sure, its 1 hit point might bite you from time to time with shadow cards sometimes targeting it, however it has to be said that there now exist a myriad of ways to prevent that exact problem, be it shadow cancellation (e.g. Hasty Stroke), hit point-buffs (e.g. Squire's Helm, Raiment of War) or damage manipulation (e.g. Honour Guard, Vigilant Guard). Defender of Rammas might only do one thing, however it does that one thing amazingly well!
