DarkPaladin13 2
A good thematic solo deck, these heroes bring lots of self-readying abilities. Each able to take two or more actions per turn (provided Light of Valinor is in play). Elrohir can also put up heavy defense (up to 6) when paired with his sister Arwen Undómiel and Steward of Gondor paired with Gondorian Sheild. And with those extra two resources each turn, he can block multiple enemies without breaking a sweat.
This deck can struggle with threat control, especially at the start of scenarios, and will struggle with enemy hordes when lacking resources to burn--as the deck is focused on hero action advantage rather than a broad spectrum of dependable ally supporters. Mighty Prowess can help this, especially if enemies have lower health totals, but while effective it is a slow solution and will still take multiple turns to eliminate a staging area full of enemies.
One ally I find more helpful than he originally looks is Erestor. While his cost is high, with Steward of Gondor on Elrohir, he becomes very inexpensive and a powerful questing companion. Add in his ability to dig a bit deeper into your deck at the cost of those duplicate "unique" cards stuck in your hand, and he becomes an ally you'll want on the table.
I could go into more detail on aspects of the this build that I like, but honestly it's a fairly straight forward (probably overused) thematic deck that does a little bit of everything fairly well (but also can struggle because it does a little of everything fairly well). But despite it's faults (and it's old-news hero combination), I do really enjoy this deck and it's theme, and believe it can be a dependable deck for solo players.
Ps. I modified this deck for a more thematic feel, from the deck "Tri-Sphere Elves of Rivendell" as stolen from talesfromthecards.wordpress. But TftC should get most of the credit.
Pps. The sideboard ally Orophin is mostly include for theme purposes, but could be a helpful ally in this ally sparse deck. What can I say, though? I'm a theme guy :D
