“Let this be the hour when we draw swords together. Fell deeds awake. Now for wrath, now for ruin, and the red dawn. Forth, Eorlingas!”

The story of Rohan and its people is my favourite theme from the legendarium of the Lord of the rings, so this simple and straight forward deck is one of my favourites.

This is a solo and multiplayer friendly deck trying to stay thematic within the Rohan archetype. The three Warden of Healing are here fulfilling the Oath of Cirion to support the awesome ability of Erkenbrand. The Dúnedain Message and Warnings are a reminiscence of the times when Thorongil was in the service of King Thengel of Rohan (ok, I know this is a bit of far fetched...).

In your starting hand is good to see cards like Gather Information, The Storm Comes or Dúnedain Message. The Storm Comes is typically the side quest you want to complete first as it will greatly help you paying for allies. Alternatively, A Good Harvest and a Warden of Healing and /or Gléowine makes for a good starting hand as well. Typically, I look for a different starting hand depending on the adventure, for example, for in the Raid on the Grey Havens, I don't think you can afford playing a side quest early in the game (with this deck).

I had to ditch Herugrim in favour of Gúthwinë because Gúthwinë is just awesome in a Rohan deck. It allows you to recicle potent allies such as Grimbold or Escort from Edoras, in some quests, like Battle of Carn Dum, it makes a big difference. Sadly, I find Herugrim and overpriced weapon, unless you combo it with cards like Celebrian Stone and Necklace of Girion, or in some decks using Nor I am a Stranger and Willpower boosting cards (Hobbits Rosie Cotton decks).

Sideboard

In multiplayer games, I recommend to take out cards with roles already covered by your fellows (healing, combat, questing, side quests if Thurindir...) in order to make room for cards such as The Day's Rising for resource acceleration or Outmatched for extra defending.

Mini-Gauntlet

                         Attempts / Success

Journey Along the Anduin (NM) 5 / 1

The Seventh Level (NM) 1 / 1

Raid on the Grey Havens 2 / 1

The Battle of Carn Dum 1 / 1

Ruins of Belegost 5 / It will never happen

Enjoy and happy ridding!

Forth Eorlingas! I love Rohan themed decks!

An interesting take on Rohan tri-sphere. I've never tried it with The Storm Comes to fix resource smoothing.

With those Armored Destriers and Snowmane, why don't you play 1 or 2 copies of Westfold Horse-breeder?With Théoden's ability is basically a free ally which can fetch you 2 of your best action-advantage cards.

Als, I'm wondering: how are Rider of the Mark working for you? (if you ever used it in a game, as it is a sideboard card). This is an ally I've always have an eye on it, but I never decide to use it in a deck.

Hi Wehehe. The Westfold Horse-breeder is a fine suggestion. Depending on the quest you could remove the Riddermark's Finest or some hitting power to make space for them, or in multiplayer you could remove some of the healers. Thanks.

The Storm Comes is really awesome for this deck. Probably is better to have a second copy instead than Gather Information.

The Rider of the Mark is a by product of older iterations of the deck, sorry. In between Erkenbrand's ability and the high demand on spirit resources in this deck, I don't think its ability is good.

Great thematic deck!

Wouldn't Golden Shield and Raiment of War also be good for this one?
