This is Bloom County 2.0, the first Bloom County deck not being very good. Both are Outlands decks, with the twist being Sam Gamgee. Low threat via Glorfindel facilitated his readying ability in the early rounds and made the space for the Outlands archetype to do its thing in the later rounds. I only found out after I had published it that you can't edit it. You live and learn.

Revisiting it as part of a plan to build decks that can work through the entire Heirs of NĂºmenor/Against the Shadow cycle for future posts on my blog, the combination with Denethor did a good job from The Steward's Fear through Assault on Osgiliath. Denethor gives you some insight into how to proceed each round and judicious use of Rosie Cotton makes him a powerful character. With various sideboard tweaks based on whether you needed location control or dealing with enemies, it looked like a winner from Westernesse.

And then I went back to Peril in Pelargir. Oh dear. The deck was always a little light on , with Ethir Swordsman a desirable early 'get'. When Battle meant that you have to use your to quest instead of ...not gonna happen. I'm publishing the deck out of a need to move on from it. I hope an Heirs of NĂºmenor buster will come out of future decks. But the joke (such as it is) about Sam Gamgee and Bloom County/Outlands will be but a memory.
