For a more powerful build, what do you think about subbing in Hirgon for MotK Gwaihir? I feel like he's got excellent synergy with Eagles, as well, and you can add in The Red Arrow to boot.

I ask as I want to build an aggro Eagle-based deck to take on Fate of Wilderland (in combo with a deck that musters more willpower), so looking for ways to speed up the first turn.

Yes, I think Hirgon is an excellent choice for a more powerful but less thematic version of this deck. I have played Eagle decks with Hirgon before and the work quite well. Being able to wait to play a Descendant of Thorondor after an enemy is added to the staging area makes that ally considerably more effective.

in addition, with gwaihir as hero he can play gwaihirs dept from the start. and gwaihiers debt can be very strong.

thread reduction is only gandalf, right? would consider start with meneldor instead of gwaihir, get you 3 less startingthread.
