Thematic Saga Series: Deck 11

The Road to Isengard

Series Overview

Welcome to the Thematic Saga Series, where I will be taking the most thematic decks possible against a modified Saga Campaign, on DragnCards. Here are the rules for this Campaign:

1: Your decks must be as accurate as possible to the books. So in A Shadow of the Past's case, because it takes place in the Shire, I will only be using Hobbit allies.

2: I am allowed to change heroes to fit the theme and I will not be incurring the +1 threat penalty while swapping heroes this way. For example, if I used an ally version of Legolas or Gimli in The Breaking of the Fellowship, I could swap heroes so I can us them as heroes in The Uruk-Hai.

I follow the rest of the rules for a standard Campaign.

The Theme

Ents, Rohirrim, and your assorted Fellowship members. The Rohirrim brought along their weapons and steeds, and the Ents were Entish. Legolas, Gimli, Merry and Pippin aren't very useful here, so I only included 1x of each.

Game Notes

Not much happened here. I played Gandalf's Staff early and basically just swarmed Ents after that. I cleared Prepare for Battle fairly early, which helped with stage 3, and I got 2x Rider of Rohan in. Derndingle Warrior and Treebeard were able to defend in the late game against Saruman and could heal with 2x Wellinghall Preservers that I had in.

My score was 146:

49 Threat,

9 Rounds,

2 Victory Points.

Boons Earned: Palantír of Orthanc.

Burdens Earned: None.

Hope you enjoy! Next up is the taming of Smeagol!
