A pretty straightforward solo deck with Dunhere.
Dunhere has always had the problem with needing tactics attachments to get high enough attack, but including a tactics hero normally meant a high starting threat and poor willpower, both couter-productive to the Dunhere strategy.
Mulligan for Resourceful, which goes on Dunhere.
Once Dunhere has 2 weapons attached, he'll be attacking into the staging area for 7. Decent, but not enough to kill everything. That's fine, the tough enemies can sit in the staging area for a round and you can kill them next turn.
Unexpected Courage helps him keep up if enemies start piling up (or if you decide to pair this up with another low threat deck), which is the main advantage Dunhere has over Haldir of Lórien.
The rest of the deck is pretty self-explanatory. Keep threat low, scry with Henamarth, quest with allies, kill with Dunhere, save Eowyn's ability for an emergency.
P.S. There's a trick to getting Bofur into play for 1 cost, even if you tied the quest this turn. Just play him in the action window in the quest phase after the quest resolution.

Aug 18, 2016That Bofur trick is very cleaver. Maybe a new ruling is needed, as the card is clearly not meant to be played this cheap without a unsuccessful questing. At that point he is a dwarf-ent (enters play exhausted but really cheap for the stats). Anyway, the dek looks really nice! I built something similar with Spirit Merry instead of Pippin. Merry allows for lower threat, both for secrecy and enemy engagement, and produces more spirit resources to play questing allies faster. What is lore really giving you? Card draw and healing. Is that worth another spirit resource each round? Maybe. |
Aug 18, 2016He's also giving a passive +1 threat to engagement costs (+2 in hobbit/saga), and access to Henamarth, a star solo card. But that said, I'm sure Spirit Merry is a fine deck too! |
Aug 20, 2016Just tried out the deck, works really well! |
Aug 20, 2016Yeah, hard to underestimate the value of a sphere-match for Daeron's Runes. |
Aug 28, 2016Good job, remind me my first eowyn 2 deck : ringsdb.com She's the perfect match for Dunhere ! Gonna have to try your now to see if the Lore sphere is good with it ! ;) |
You could always toss a few Unseen Strikes in the sideboard, too. I could see them being extremely useful in quests where a lot of enemies had between 8 and 10 combined Def+HP. (Steward's Fear!)
