A modified Dwarf starter deck vs Into Ithlien
https://www.reddit.com/r/lotrlcg/comments/v4c4x4/into_ithlien_solo_deck/
Mulligan for Radagast's Cunning (best option) or Durin's Song.
Both help clearing the active Ithilien Road in the first turn:
Failing to clear that location is not an immediate game over as long as you don't get a second strong enemy, but it will make the rest much harder.
Dain is a strong defender so you shouldn't have to chump-block which makes keeping Celador in play a viable option.
Skipping Stage 2 is def. the better option here!
Start swarming and you should have a good shot at winning this.
Protector of Lórien and the readying attachments should go on Dain as your main defender and attack booster.
Note: Dain can actually boost his own attack. There's an action window after declaring attackers, but before the total strength is calculated.
Blocking Wargs is another major threat that can end your game, especially if you're unlucky and end up chaining a bunch of surge effects.
Hardy Leadership would be a decent tech card here, but sadly it's not included in the starter deck.
I did some test runs with Bifur instead of Ori.
The slightly lower threat is tempting and Bifurs resource ability might allow you to play a lore ally on turn one, but the -1 is noticeable during that crucial turn one battle questing.
