This is the deck I used for my single core series to defeat The River Running.

The final cycle is here and along with it comes The One Ring and contracts! These cards add all kinds of interesting deck-building choices, and powerful effects. And you are going to need them as you play these difficult quests.
This deck uses the Fellowship contract. To get my number of unique characters up to 9 as fast as possible I have included many cheap allies, A Very Good Tale, Timely Aid, and a lot of card draw. You can do a neat trick if Sméagol turns into Gollum. You lose the contract's Side B when this happens, but you can get an ally into play, and then tame Gollum and now you have 10 characters under your control!
The hero line-up keeps my threat very low so I can avoid engaging these dangerous Easterlings and kill them in the staging area with Dúnhere wielding Gúthwinë.
This is a very fun deck and the cast of characters you have in play is always different making each game a unique experience.
Happy Questing!
