This deck was born from a desire to put a different spin on the Strider strategy than I've seen on RingsDB so far. I wanted to make a strong thematic deck that really personified the journey of Frodo and Sam to Mordor.
The obvious focus of the deck is to turn Sam into a superior quester, defender, and attacker all at once using the various attachments. Halbarad and Arwen are there to make sure you're always able to maximize Sam and his abilities.
The underlying strategy is that while Sam is indeed strong and able to handle multiple enemies once you get the right attachments, Frodo is no slouch as a defender as well, leaving you the option to defend multiple enemies with the Hobbits and allowing your allies to clean up, particularly if Gandalf is in play. Even without the allies, the deck has a low enough threat and reduction options, along with fun cards like Taste It Again! that allow you a lot of versatility depending on what the scenario brings.
UPDATE 10/30/16- After testing the deck in a multiplayer game (3 players, The Steward's Fear), a few observations:
1) While your quest power is strong in a solo or duo game, you feel significantly less powerful in games that are 3 players and above. The encounter deck often just reveals too many cards in those situations for you to handle alone, so another player with at least some questing power is recommended.
2) If you don't draw Hobbit Cloak, Sam feels extremely weak unless you engage multiple enemies, which is not always something you can handle. Because of that, I have swapped out Faramir and Anchor Watch for Arwen Undomiel and Dunedain Mark (Faramir's ability feels wasted since your character counted is limited by Strider anyway).
Hopefully, the aforementioned changes, along with the removal and replacement of some events will make the deck feel more satisfying to play. I've unfortunately lost some of the thematic element by removing Faramir, but I think it's plausible that a deck including his hero version along with Sam and Frodo could have strong thematic and strategic possibilities (another idea for another day). Please comment with potential improvements or suggestions. Thanks!

Faramir and Sam Gamgee sound like a fun option, too. But you suffer a higher starting threat and one less hobbit traited hero, so might wanna reduce cards like Hobbit Cloak and Bill the Pony for some more marks and gondor attachments e.g. Steward of Gondor or Rune-master for faramir.
