Build to rapidly put horses and eagles onto Aragorn. This deck quickly builds up a very strong hero who gets multiple attacks. Even better is the sweet spot when Aragorn has all 3 key attachments: Roheryn, Support of the Eagles, and Rohan Warhorse. Engage an enemy, blammo, it's gone, and Aragorn is ready to fight the next one he sucks up. Alternate version is to swap Merry and/or Sam for Mablung and/or Theodred to help with the resource difficulties that go with Eagles, though often Galadriel sneaking out goes a long ways to solve that problem.

Feb 12, 2017Ok, sooo..... after some FAQ looking, I would like to recommend replacing one sneak attack and one halfing determination with two secret vigils, and swap merry for mablung. Still works great! |
Feb 13, 2017If I can ask, if you remove and replace the cards you mentioned, do you find you get a lot of use out of Sam Gamgee's ability? If not, unless you're very concerned about your starting threat, I wonder if another hero might suit you better, such as a dedicated defender or quester to help you early until you find Sword that was Broken? |
Feb 14, 2017Oh sam Gamgee IS the dedicated quester. If his ability happens to pop off, great, but he's there just to quest for 3 and eventually for 4. I tried a similar build that also instead uses Theodred along with Mablung and otherwise a very similar build. This works really quite nicely too, except that if the quest requires a lot of questing from the get-go, best to sideboard in Sam. |
Seems like quite a bit of fun. Roheryn has always intrigued me, and nice to see a deck using it that forgoes Gondorian Fire. One possible problem: Galadriel's text reads "After you play Galadriel from your hand..." If your reference to Galadriel "sneaking out" means using her with sneak attack, I don't think you get to trigger her response.
