Hi there,
been a long time i haven't posted any deck around here.
So here it is !
I wanted here, to play ents, in a bit different way, than the classical (but still really nice to play) Faramir-Bifur-Mablung nor the even better "ewoyn-denethor2-Elrond" (wich si monopolising the steward and eowyn, wich are, lets say it, on mainly all game ^^)
Fact is, that "Unlikely friendship" gave me the wish of trying an different version of ent deck.
So i first tried a bi-sphère version with haldir, wich was good to pay the wellinghall turn 1,
But fast i realize that Legolas would be a much better choice in here.
First, coz his capacity, with a strarting threat of 27 is much better than haldir, specialy with almost no threat managing. And second, coz tactic brings in the deck, those nice weapons and those amazing tactic ents !
For now, i mainly oriented the deck for multiplayer, wich is a much better fit for him.
Once a teamate put an unexpected courage on legolas, the red elf can start dishing damage and doing what he do the best : killing and putting green tokens on quest and active location !
All in all the deck is, i guess, a classical ent deck, and, here, i just bring some "candy cards" like "ranger provisions, elf stone, long defeat" wich are cards that i really like in multiplayers games, coz you can just play them for your partners
Pros : Polyvalent, Good Questing/Healing mid-end game, Fun, Helping partners
Cons : No threat managing (vigil/gandalf in side), no cancels, Low questing early game
Hope you'll like this different version of ents deck.
Cheers from belgium.
Ao.

I always found the second version of Faramir to be really excellent with ents. Playing ents without him, is, to me, a bit less fun. And i always liked Faramir in the book so i'm glad having a deck playing around him. About "captain's wisdom" it is totally doable, but i found "gaining" to be better, Especially with bifur, coz it works without bowing any heroes, and i mainly use that card for playing Treebeard or Wellinghall. But yeah, it is very doable to switch for "Wisdom" so legolas could exhaust in ressource phase then pay for a Skinbark nor Derdingle/Booming. About Treebeard, same, you can defenatly add the 3rd one in the deck, wich is alwyas better. Having treebeard t1 on the table wich is able to untap from Faramir ability is really huge. But Here i just wanted to have some more "multi-player" cards. So that's the reason why i remove 1x treebeard and 2/3x Entmoot. But surely you must add those for and remove 2x Ranger provisions and 1 bow or blade aswell as 1 elfstone nor long defeat. In solo game that's what i do. Also, having 1 "Black Arrow" to put on legolas is always really nice. Same for "Arod" All in all, the deck is doing pretty much the same as the "Mablung version" Except for managing threat, but to counter that, you can just add 2, 3 secret vigil from the side board. As i said that's what i like in those Ents Decks, you can always remove some cards to put some others. Thanks for your message. Cheers ;) |
I like how you managed to put Faramir in a tri sphere Ent deck, I have always found that to be a challenge. You could try Captain's Wisdom which can work with both Faramir and Legolas since you could probably afford not to have the later ready early. Also I tend to add a 3rd Treebeard to my Ent decks: I have found his extra resource is a real bummer. Also, no Entmoot!?
