mathom has a newer deck inspired by this one: The Grey Pilgrim
The idea is to use Gandalf and his wonderful toys, plus his massive stats, to make up for the lack of extra heroes. Lots of cards are cheaper or have some way to cheat them into play. Strider makes solo work possible and Vanish from Sight lets you pretend to be in secrecy even after your threat is too high. The Storm Comes eliminates the resource match for most of the deck once you get it cleared.
I've successfully used this deck to clear Hunt for Golum.
