This deck is inspired by the mechanic utilized in the deck "Trollshaw Buzzsaw: Middle Earth's Machine Gun," which relies upon the Trollshaw Scout's ability to attack without exhausting. I wanted to try expanding upon that, with the abilities to also defend and quest without exhausting. As it turns out, there are a number of ways to quest without exhausting and it is less impactful, because there is only one quest per round, but there may be an unlimited number of defenses and/or attacks.
In essence, the heroes in this deck, although powerful in their own right, only exist to get the non-exhausting ally specialists into play:
- Attack: Trollshaw Scout
- Defend: Watcher of the Bruinen
- Quest: Lindon Navigator (primary), North Realm Lookout (Secondary), Gandalf(Tertiary)
The heroes are also responsible for generating a steady stream of resources to buff these characters with relevant attachments AND with prolific card draw, so as to have cards to discard and keep the allies in play as long as possible.
