Hey everyone,

This'll be the last secrecy deck from me for a bit, but I couldn't just leave Folco Boffin without making at least one more deck for him. (And I've still got at least one more on the backburner. I'll have to revisit a deck where he sticks around at some point...)

This deck was a blast, though. It's got pretty much all of my favorite secrecy shenanigans, but is way easier to pilot than the Theodred, Glorfindel, Bifur version ever was.

Deck Strategy:

The most important card in the deck, worth mulliganing for, is Nenya. Nenya allows you to discard Folco Boffin for his huge threat reduction and still play all the lore cards in the deck. And Nenya lets Galadriel commit her huge willpower to the quest, but you don't have to decide about that until after the encounter cards are revealed.

Other than Nenya, we've got a pretty standard ramp into big allies plan. I left Timely Aid behind this time, because I may have used it a bit too much lately. But all the secrecy allies are there to help speed along the early buildup.

One of the toughest mechanical decisions is when to discard Folco, as I expect it usually will be for decks built with him. In this deck, all it takes is one Elrond's Counsel to get down to secrecy, and Galadriel can help you stay there. Or sometimes getting rid of him right away will let you get down enough of your opening hand to get ahead of the early game.

Final Thoughts:

I ditched Folco straight away in the video for this game. But I also had a really great, unrecorded, game against The Steward's Fear where I kept him around for the entire quest. Sadly, that game ended with two Zealous Traitors killing every ally in the deck in a single round. And the first attempt against Steward's Fear started with Gandalf stabbing one of two remaining heroes in the back in the very first quest phase. Twitter seemed very happy about that one.

On a more positive note, watch for the most hilarious Gandalf draw for a secrecy deck a few turns into the video. You'll know it when you see it.

Check out the video on youtube here, or look for my other decks here on ringsdb!

This deck is crazy! I played it, wrote up my impressions and then just watched you make the deck go crazy on your channel too! Great work putting this deck together! I featured it over on my blog! lotrdecktest.wordpress.com

This is an interesting deck - I'm excited to see the way Folco reinvigorates Secrecy. Other than Jubayr, a great dedicated ally defender for a deck with Leadership and Lore is (Eldahir)[hallofbeorn.com Just something to consider, since none of these heroes is designed to defend.

Not sure how I managed to mangle the markdown, but here is that Eldahir link:

I do like Eldahir. I just usually forget about him, somehow. I think Firyal is so good that it keeps the Harad allies more fresh in my mind.
