Khazad, Khazad!

This Fellowship has run riot through the first 'Hobbit' box and will be setting off through 'On The Doorstep' sometime next week. In terms of synergy, it's the standard Dwarf idea of one person using Dáin Ironfoot and both players benefiting. In this case, the Khazad Questing deck probably gets more out of the Dáin Ironfoot buff than Dain's own deck.

Both decks have ample card draw. Resource acceleration can be found in Steward of Gondor and Horn of Gondor for the combat deck and Ziggy for the questing deck, unless the combat player can be bribed into sharing either Steward or Horn.

Direct damage coming from Thalin, Big G and Gondorian Spearman, with a single, brutally effective cameo from Longbeard Orc Slayer, has so far ripped into all three encounter decks very effectively. Both decks are capable of getting fast starts with cheap allies. Once a Steward of Gondor hits the table, it's time to dig for Citadel Plate to turn Gimli into a monster. Even with a modern card pool, a Dáin-buffed double-Plate Gimli is a thing of ferocious, elemental savagery, ripping through any enemy with contemptuous ease.
