My take on a Dunedain combat-focused deck out of Leadership/Tactics. Aragorn takes center stage, ensuring that you end the turn (and thus start the next quest phase) with an engaged enemy whenever possible. This turns on Halbarad and lets him quest while still defending later in the phase, which is his main role early in the game. The rest of the deck is pretty straight-forward, working to put out as many powerful combat characters as possible and equip them with everything they need to slay their enemies. I tend to prefer decks with thematic consistency over purely power-based decks when possible, but in this case I'm able to still field a powerful and versatile deck even while maintaining the theme. There are however a few card choices that are worth a closer look:

  • Celeborn: This deck is currently paired with a Silvan-heavy Spirit/Lore quest deck (which my friend has posted here), so Celeborn pulls an awful lot of weight. His three willpower is valuable as well, and he tends to quest most turns. If I were pairing this deck with a non-Silvan partner, I'd swap Celeborn out for Amarthiúl (who is a natural fit for the deck both thematically and mechanically).

  • Elven Mail: This is another card which is usually attached to the partner deck, rather than being used on Celeborn. The other deck is running Rossiel, who becomes truly beastly when clad in the armor of her people. If I were running this with a different partner, I'd probably replace this with a Gondorian Shield and swap Celeborn out for Amarthiul, planning to put Steward of Gondor on Amarthiul (to take advantage of his multi-sphere potential) on him and make him a defensive powerhouse with the shield as well.

  • Sword of Númenor: This is a flex-slot for cards designed to strengthen Aragorn's attacking abilities. I'm currently working through the quests in The Lost Realm and the Angmar Awakened cycle, so this gets swapped out for Blade of Gondolin in Orc-heavy quests.

There it is! Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions! Enjoy.
