I used this deck for the twentieth quest of my Saga Campaign. I am going to try and keep it as thematic as possible, stemming from the 'What If?' of 'What if Gandalf didn't escape from Orthanc in The Fellowship of the Ring?'
Together with his faithful servant Samwise and his loyal bodyguard Faramir, Frodo has made it into Mordor. Now he must undergo the most difficult part of his journey, crossing the very land of the Enemy, avoiding his servants and eluding his grasp. And above all, the weight of the Ring ever grows on Frodo’s mind. Nevertheless this is his doom, and with all the strength of will that he can muster he will strive to see it done, even at the cost of his own life.
The purposes of this deck is to primarily support the efforts of Deck One, through additional willpower and action advantage. The latter is achieved through Fast Hitch, Lembas and Unexpected Courage, while Light of Valinor should probably go on Rossiel along with Protector of Lórien so that she can always quest, and then be free to either commit to a fortitude test or defend an attack. Ranger Spikes should help lessen the quantity of those attacks, and boost Faramir's attack so that with Great Yew Bow he might be able to pick off one or two enemies in the staging area.
The willpower boosting comes here through Silver Circlet, Protector of Lórien and Celebrían's Stone. While the Stne is traditionally associated with Aragorn, we thought that seeing as it belonged to Arwen's mother we would give her a pass. The remainder of the deck primarily focuses on getting things into the victory display to make Keen as Lances as cheap as possible. Out of the Wild can be used premptively against the worse aspects of the encounter deck, and is absolutely worth the full cost in this quest. Leave No Trace and None Return can drive down the number of times that you see an enemy you had already defeated, not only by removing it from the encounter deck, but also by allowing you to use The Door is Closed! and any copies that may show up in the future.
This deck represents the efforts of Faramir to keep Frodo safe on the road to Mount Doom. Setting traps to waylay those who may make pursuit and keeping his bow bent lest any draw too close. For he was brought out of the wild where he trained to guide the Ringbearer now in this great wilderness, ensuring they pass without a trace, or that none may return to tell news of their passing. But they are not alone, for such wills as have power in Imladris and the Halls of the Elevenking bend their will now to the travellers, offering such encouragement and comfort as they can. For now is the doom of Middle-Earth to be deemed, and it rests in the hands of one small hobbit.
