RedSpiderr 2270

RedSpiderr has a newer deck inspired by this one: Saga Deck 8.2: The Falls of Rauros

I used this deck for the sixth quest of my Saga Campaign. I am going to try and keep it as thematic as possible, stemming from the 'What If?' of 'What if Gandalf didn't escape from Orthanc in The Fellowship of the Ring?' Please note, I don't own all the cards, so am not able to make the most powerful thematic deck theoretically possible, but constrained by what I have, here is my best attempt.

The Fellowship set out from Rivendell, comprised of the Ringbearer Frodo son of Drogo, his faithful servant Samwise and his cousin Merry. Accompanying them is the heir to the throne of GOndor, Aragorn son of Aragorn and Faramir, son of the Steward Denathor. Also with them is the mighty elf-lord Glorfindel and the sons of Elrond, Elladan and Elrohir. After decidinn to avoid the Redhorn Pass for fear of the elements, the company made their way to Moria, where at the Doors of Durin they narrowly escaped being caught between the fury of a warg-pack and the grasp of a Nameless Thing of the depths, known only as The Watcher. Now they have only the option of journeying through the belly of the Mountain, through the ancient kingdom of Khazad-dum, where there may be more than just orcs stirring there.

This Deck is going to try and take care of the combat side of the deck, though Fellowship of the Ring should help with questing as well. Rivendell Blade and Dwarrowdelf Axe are to boost both Glorfindel and Elladan and Gimli respectively, as we will need all the combat prowess we can muster, not only to face hordes of Goblins, but also the mighty Balrog itself. Ranger Spikes will also serve that end to boost Faramir and ease questing. Blade of Gondolin should also provide a duel function with its ability. Fast Hitch is for #Merry, to make the most of his ability to ready other heroes, as is Dagger of Westernesse to boost his attack up as high as we can get it. You'll notice that even though this deck runs with Glorfindel in its partner deck, there is no Asfaloth, I'm afraid the reasoning behind that is pure theme as they entered on foot and had no opportunity to gain any mounts while in the Mines.

This deck represents The Fellowship as they journey through the Mines of Moria. There are less allies as a result, but far more attachments to make the most out of the heroes that we have for the company will need to survive on their own, making the best of the tools that they brought in with them to escape The Black Pit.
