HeavyKaragh 5
Deck constructed for second spanish The Lord of the Rings LCG encounter, from September 9th to 11th of 2016 in Llinars del Valles.
Heroes were supposed to be Hobbits, but I decided to change the deck to avoid conflicting other players' heroes.
Note that this hero setup provides 2 tactics or lore resources sphere regardless of the round (thanks to Denethor and Bifur abilities). Also, allows playing Treebeard and Gandalf on round one.

Sep 14, 2016It's almost impossible to know what other players will play, but I wanted to avoid a mandatory hero setup. On previous year, I built a secrecy hobbit deck and had conflicts with other players several times (hobbits turned out to be popular). That made me remove several secrecy cards and had to play the deck very differently. I decided to build this deck with heroes I could swap without forcing to swap another 9 or 12 cards from the main deck. This hero setup allowed me to build the sideboard independently from what heroes I had to use. |
Sep 16, 2016I like this deck list. I am running a similar build for a campaign, but I made mine before Denethor was released. For a long time I have said Treebeard makes Gríma's stock go up because he was the only consistent way to play the big ent on turn 1. I am glad to see a build that recognizes the power of Denethor to play Treebeard in much the same way. |
