Valvilja The Good 9

Revised edition cards only

I did not build this deck to be use as a solo one.

I wanted to play ents, even if I don't have a lot of them.

Essentially, it's a control deck, with good defenders and attackers, but a little bit lacking of willpower. Even if I did not had any drawing effect card, you should be able to rush the deck early with Beravor ability.

Legolas should compensate for the lacking of good questing characters. Eventually, you'll be able to "exil" (as put encounter cards into the victory display) the worst encounter cards and so, giving a break for everybody. Doing that so, will make Rossiel one of yout best defender or quester.

I put Wingfoot because Beravor could definitly use that card and combining it with Henamarth Riversong can be really powerful. But even without him, if you know the encounter against you'll be up to, it should be easy to got the right card.

Also, I build it to be easy to play, because I want to have an easy-to-play deck ready to initiate friends or simply to convince my gf to play with me.

Every suggestions is welcome :) I though replacing the Horn of Gondor with more heal or draw, but I'm not sure yet.

I would replace Wingfoot and Horn of Gondor with Daeron's Runes and another Feint.

Yes, I though of it, I think it could be me efficient in that way. I'm even hesitating to replace with 2x Lore of Imladris and 2x Daeron's Runes

I'm not sure if you are grasping how absurdly good Daeron's Runes really is. They should be included in basically every Lore deck. Since you draw two cards and only discard one, you end up with the same amount of cards in hand. By including three copies, your minimum deck size is effectively 47 cards now. That makes it more likely to draw your good cards. Even better, Daeron's Runes does not just replace itself. It also lets you replace any other card in your hand with a different one. Let's say you draw a copy of Henamarth Riversong after one is already in play. Typically, that second copy would be wasted. However, Daeron's Runes lets you discard card that card and draw a better one. This helps your efficiency for free.

I'm grasping the potential of Daeron's Runes for sure and I agree that this card is stronger than Horn of Gondor or Lore of Imladris in this deck. But, as I said in my initial description, the point of it is to initiate new players. So in that case, I want them to feel the deck to be thematic, fluff with the elves/nature lore, fun and easy to play.

Of course, everything cannot be perfect, so that's why I added Beravor and not a third elf as an hero, so it can be playable. Daeron's Runes can be great, but adding heal, like Lore of Imladris can be great too since elves are known to be great healers in the universe of LOTR.

And since this deck was designed pour be played with other players and not solo, being able to heal others, will make them feel more useful to the game, I think so. Exptecially in the case that they'll begin the game, so they'll not be the mean lead in the first quests, so playing a support role should be the best.

Ok, that's fair. However, Glorfindel is a Lore elf who provides healing if you want that. In addition, Glorfindel's healing is better as it does not use a card (meaning you won't miss Beravor's card draw. In addition, for Beechbone, less healing can often be better so that way you can still trigger his ability while keeping it fully charged. I would also add Bow of the Galadhrim and Hands Upon the Bow (unless you find it to be too complex). I would highly recommend removing Beorn's Hospitality from the sideboard as it is just bad.
