I have never been able to find a good use for the Bree trait. I think mashing it with Dale may be the best option. While a typical Dale deck is almost certainly stronger, I like this one's unique drinking flair. Nob synergizes perfectly with Brand son of Bain allowing for repeatable card draw and readying through Half-pint. Harry Goatleaf solves the issue of Brand's squishiness, making sure he won't die from treacheries. Rhovanion Outrider provides location control, Bree-land Protector provides shadow protection, and A Stout Heart provides threat reduction. Three copies of Boots from Erebor was an accidental mistake. Drinking Song can help find King of Dale, allowing Archet Alekeeper to be bought. Mithril Shirt is great in this deck, with its powerful questing capabilities. If you want power, play solid Dale. Run three copies of Traffic from Dale if you like. But if you want to drink and have a jolly good time, talk to Harry Boatleaf.

Feb 08, 2023That's a very cool idea! I still wouldn't consider that a Bree deck, but my deck really isn't a Bree one either I suppose. I think there still needs a bit more trait synergy beyond undefended attacks. Perhaps there could be a card allowing damage from undefended hits to be assigned among all Bree characters or synergy with item attachments leaving play. |
Feb 08, 2023if you want pure bree, take Barliman Butterbur give him a Bree Pony let him proteted by Harry Goatleaf and drink all the beer to heal. that would be the core i think. supported by the bree and hobbits-allies. i you want to take it to the limit, give him the The One Ring and Well Preserved and he can take more undefended attacks. if you give him Song of Mocking he an protect across the board. |

Feb 09, 2023Sadly, Harry Goatleaf can't prevent damage from treacheries; his ability specifies "combat damage." I do like how Nob synergizes with Dale and The Last Alliance, though, and using Half-pint for infinite card draw with Brand son of Bain is brilliant. Personally, I would sub out the Boots from Erebor for the cards you have in the sideboard, as well as look for more cards to include; at the moment, it looks like Brand doesn't have much to spend his money on. |
the ability of Harry Goatleaf is one of the rare, that can support Beorn together with (MotK) Dori (who then, drink al the bears ^^) a solid protection may be build.
